18 week bump-date

18 weeks and 3 days.
So many exciting things are happening within the next 5 months or if you want to be technical with my dates its 4 months and 31 days...

Our anatomy scan has been scheduled for 20 weeks, nothing really special other than we get to see our sweet baby again, I guess that's special enough ;)

Hubby turns 25 next week!!!
December 2nd marks 7 years we've been together (how has he been able to deal with me that long? Let alone create another possible mini ME) I turn 25 in the same month, baby shower fun has begun. Our marriage anniversary is exactly 1 month until baby arrives (if he/she waits the full 40 weeks) Okay enough fun facts.

How far along? 18 weeks!
Stretch marks? None yet (Thank Goodness)
Best moment this week: Feeling our baby moving around. It's starting to get more consistent. Every evening laying on the couch I try to concentrate to feel those sweet little nudges.
Worst moment this week: Acne (which has been the case for awhile) Getting dizzy and feeling like I'm going to vomit at the most inconvenient times (such as while doing appointments at work)
Miss anything: Wine
Food cravings: Earlier this week it was sloppy joes, right now I really want an Italian sandwich from Fire House Subs.
Anything make you queasy or sick: Not anymore
Have you started to show? Oh yes!
Gender prediction: Still getting a lot of guesses from people and Girl seems to be the winner.
Looking forward to: Hubby's Birthday next week and Thanksgiving dinner!

Nursery update:
The closet is finished and slowly starting to fill up, daddy-to-be installed a ceiling fan over the weekend, and now to get our butts in gear to finish the rocking chair and hopefully get a crib.

Belated 15 week post

15 weeks or if you want to get technical today would make 15 weeks 6 days. Yay for week 16 starting tomorrow when baby will finally hear!!! Those little ears will surely be used to mommy's voice after about 10 minutes. You can bet your bottom dollar I will be one of those pregnant ladies who does a lot of talking to her growing belly ;) and proud of it!

How far along? 15 weeks 6 days
Stretch marks? No
Best moment this week: Testing out my pinterest skills and making a pumpkin t-shirt to show off the bump
Worst moment this week:  Bloat has begun along with heartburn.... forget enjoying a meal anymore now that I feel like my stomach could explode open and the burning sensation in my chest after every meal. Oh the joys of pregnancy!
Miss anything: Friday evening I really missed moscato as we enjoyed dinner at Olive Garden :(
Food cravings: Very random and changing about every 5 minutes. Right now it's chicken wings drenched in Sweet Baby Rays ;)

Anything make you queasy or sick: So far nothing this week, I'm back to being able to eat like a normal person.
Have you started to show yet? Yes!!!

Gender prediction: Girl
Looking forward to: Another sonogram in a few weeks to see our baby's face!

Flash back to the past weeks of chalkboard bump dates. I'm such a slacker when it comes to keeping the blog up to date.

I am so happy that I'll be entering the 2nd trimester soon! I probably won't be saying that come trimester #3 ;)

Best moment this week: Can't recall a best moment this week

9 Weeks

Baby's room is slowly coming together! At the rate we're going it'll probably be complete before I finish the 2nd trimester. Baby G now has their own library wall which I'm excited to fill up with books, the IKEA dresser (which only took 3 days to build) is finished and looks amazing against the gray walls, and now the task of building and designing a closet system.

Baby G now also has their very own chalkboard which I've already decorated with a cute little sign. I'm looking forward to getting the rocking chair sanded and painted so I can hang the chalkboard front and center over our soon to be cuddle corner.
I found the chalkboard at Micheal's Craft store for only $16

Baby G is definitely starting to show! Either we're going to have a big baby; which I wouldn't be surprised since big babies run in the family or we're having twins and one just hasn't shown itself on the sonogram (lets hope for big baby!) :)

How far along? 9 weeks
Stretch marks? No
Best moment this week: Enjoying a funnel cake made by my amazing husband
Worst moment this week: Feeling like absolutely death on Sunday and not being able to truly enjoy a roast smoked all day by Justin's pap.
Miss anything: Still coffee
Food cravings: Funnel cakes

Anything make you queasy or sick: So far nothing this week, I'm back to being able to eat like a normal person.
Have you started to show yet? Definitely sporting a mini baby bump now, and embracing it by wearing tank tops with pride!

Gender prediction: Girl
Looking forward to: Our first trimester screening appointment when we'll get to see our sweet baby G again

Week 7

We are now 7 weeks pregnant with our sweet baby G. The past 2 weeks I've been absolutely miserable with fatigue and being nauseated. I couldn't eat anything without it making me gag and even looking at recipes on Pinterest made me sick. Turns out the prenatal I was taking was making me feel horrible. I'd been taking the "Nature Made" Multi Prenatal since May when we started trying, one night I forgot to take it and the next day I felt great. I put two and two together and went another night without it and again felt great.

Last Wednesday we had our first baby appointment where we finally got to see our little blueberry and hear the heartbeat which I'm so surprised we did since I'm still really early. My Doctor hooked me up with some Zofran for nausea and vomiting and also prescribed me a new prenatal vitamin.

How far along? 7 weeks
Stretch marks? No
Best moment this week: Feeling good enough to eat a real meal after 2 weeks of surviving on noodle soup and spaghettios
Miss Anything? I still miss my starbucks, I know I could treat myself once in awhile, but I'm dealing pretty well.
Food cravings: Nothing right now
Anything making you queasy or sick: My all time favorite food; hot dogs officially disgust me
Have you started to show yet: I have a little pudge, or maybe it's bloat?
Gender prediction: Girl, everyone is telling us a girl.
Looking forward to:  EVERYTHING, getting furniture into the nursery

Over our nice long Labor Day weekend, Hubby and I finished painting and laying down hardwood floor in the nursery and the new extra bedroom. We went with a gray for the walls since we'll be doing a gender neutral nursery along with white furniture.

Next on the todo list is putting together a closet system and searching for a while dresser that will serve as a changing table.

TTC round 2

Unfortunately the first two week torture ended in a BFN (Big fat negative) after a crying session, I quickly got over it and we did the deed again. With it being our first time trying I learned a lesson that using iPhone apps to track your fertile days is a big NO-NO! Last week I bought the Clear Blue Easy Ovulation kit or OPK (Ovulation Prediction Kit) and found out that I was actually ovulating last week so I am now 5 DPO (5 days post ovulation) my period is expected to start on Tuesday June 17th so please keep your fingers crossed that AF (Aunt Flow) doesn't show!

I never realized how stressful or involved TTC was going to be. Last week was complete hell, and I'm so glad I did my research because this time around I'm not symptom spotting or worrying if I am or not preggers! We're just taking it one day at a time now, and praying that God will bless us with the opportunity to start our little family.

Products I'm loving right now is the Clear Blue Easy Ovulation Test Kit, Palmers Stretch Mark Lotion, and Wondfo LH and HCG tests.

I have really loved using this, there's no guessing you can easily tell if you're ovulating or not.

I wish I would have started using this rather than the iPhone apps.

The Wondfo LH (ovulation test) and the HCG (pregnancy test) are the cheapest for women TTC and hate waiting or spending $40+ on the top of the line test. I bought these off amazon for $25 and go 50 LH and 20 HCG test.

I only use these to confirm, but if I'm getting a positive I will confirm with either the Clear Blue or First Response.

Has anyone else Ovulated a week before their period?

Two week torture

Sunday began the two week torture! A million emotions are running through me as I begin this journey. What started out as a plan to start trying in October quickly changed to a spontaneous let's try now! I was both ecstatic and terrified that our lives could very soon be changing!
I had originally planned to start my prenatal vitamins in August, but this morning I rushed over to CVS before work to pick up my drug of choice.

Nature's Made's Multi Prenatal vitamin.
It taste disgusting and is like swallowing a horse pill but in the end it will be all worth it. I popped one as soon as I got to work! Since it has folic acid's in it I won't need to continue my original Folic Acid vitamin which was 400 mcg because this prenatal has 800 mcg.
My doctor's appointment is tomorrow so I'm anxious to get this all under way.
Please keep me in your prayers and your fingers crossed that I'm able to get a Big Fat Positive in 2 weeks!

Pre-Pregnancy Prep

With my pre-pregnancy check already scheduled for next Tuesday there's nothing I love more than being prepared, or as prepared as I can be when it comes to making baby!

Here are the products I'm using now and plan to start using within the next 2 months.

Aside from taking my Folic Acids (I'm using Nature Made Folic Acid brand) I've also begun drinking more water and "trying" to eat healthier. My next step is making a dentist appointment to make sure my dental hygiene is in tip-top shape.

My favorite read at the moment is "What to expect before you're expecting" In the first chapter it's given me some great talking tips for my Doctors appointment on Tuesday.

What are some tried and true products or remedies you swear by.

- What is the best firming/stretch mark prevention lotion you use?
- What brand of prenatal's would you recommend?
- Anything I should ask my Doctor at my pre-pregnancy appointment?

Day dreaming, baby.

My husband and I have awhile until we'll be trying for our future bean. We plan to start trying on our honeymoon in October, the countdown has already started! 151 days to go!
I've had this longing to be a mommy for about 2 years now, and I'm over the moon that it'll finally be happening sooner than I thought. When we talk about raising a family it seems like something that won't happen for another 2-3 years, but knowing that it could potentially be right around the corner has me on cloud 9!
I'm a planner, and a learner so when it comes to venturing into mommy-hood I want to do as much research as I possibly can. I went off my birth control last week and started taking folic acids. In August I will begin taking prenatal vitamins with 3 months until we start trying. It didn't take long for my period to begin once I went off the pill, about 3 days in and even in the past when I've gone off the pill my periods were always regular so I started tracking them with 3 different apps I've found for my phone.
My husband would probably call me crazy with the way I get about planning and wanting to know everything, but I can't help it. I think it finally hit him how much I wanted to be a mom when we visited my cousin in the hospital last Friday; she had given birth to her 3rd child and the 1st boy for my side of the family. I could have held him forever! On our way home I began to cry in the car and I guess that really put it into perspective for him how much I want a little family of our own. The following day we had a talk and decided to start trying on our honeymoon. After almost 8 years together hearing we can start trying for a baby is the best gift he could ever give me and I'm so excited to have him as the father of our future children.

I'll be using this blog to track our progress, from trying to conceive (TTC), getting pregnant, and finally having our little bean. I look forward to chatting with other future mommy's and hearing everyones advice, so please don't be shy, say HI!

What I'm learning about right now:
